Angelfish is an adult revenge thriller. It could, and should, have been just an unfortunate but devastating accident. Sh*t happens, even to those that least deserve it. A little guilt and remorse wouldn’t have made things right but it might have made it easier to move on. Instead the executive joyriders had stood in the middle of the carnage they had caused. Debated and weighed their options like they were assessing nothing more than a company memo. Then they had settled on keeping their mega wage packets and getting on with their careers rather than doing the right thing and they had all clambered back into the now slightly dented executive saloon and driven off into the damp and rainy night. Leaving the dead and dying in the middle of the road. Steve’s wife had died instantly and he had come close to joining her. He couldn’t remember much about the accident, memories were fuzzy to say the least. People milling about. Faces just out of focus. He had survived, fought back, lost the plot for a time when it hit him that his world had been devastated and then he had struggled to get back on the right track. But now he was getting there. Out of the blue, for whatever reason, some unknown deity with a sick sense of humour had amused itself by dropping him right in the middle of the nest of unrepentant joyriding murderous scumbags. On the way giving his long lost memories a sharp jolt so they returned crystal clear and in high definition. Steve found himself as a lowly security guard working at the company that was owned and run by the driver and passengers who had left him for dead. Now it wasn’t a case of “if” he was going to get justice and a little revenge for Gail but rather when, where and how. And the best part was the guilty didn’t even know he was coming for them.
