Jane Eaton Hamilton has written eight previous books, including a memoir (Mondays are Yellow, Sundays are Grey) that was on the Sunday Times bestseller list and was a Guardian Book of the Year, and a story collection (Hunger) that was a Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBT Literature finalist. Jane had been ill for the past several years, however, and Weekend is her first book of fiction in thirteen years. (None of her previous books are still in print.)

Weekend delves deep into intimate human relationships; as such the book deserves to be read and enjoyed by non-LGBT readers.
