Beyond the basics of research design and statistics, noteworthy features of this major revision of the 1989 text for undergraduates are: a new chapter on survey research, expanded coverage of diversity research and issues, a greater emphasis on lifespan studies, and "research in action" boxes exemplifying specific methodologies and issues in current research. Statistical tests, tables, and report writing tips are appended. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
