Flannery O'Connor (1925-1964) is widely regarded as one of the great American writers of the twentieth century, author of singular short stories (including "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" and "The Life You Save May Be Your Own") and two novels (Wise Blood and The Violent Bear It Away). Only in 1979, however, with the publication of her collected letters, could the public fully see the depth of her personal faith and her wisdom as a spiritual guide.
Drawing from all O'Connor's work, and including the complete text of her short story, "Revelation", this anthology highlights as never before her distinctive voice as a spiritual writer, covering such topics as Christian Realism, the Church, the relation between faith and art, sin and grace, and the role of suffering in the life of a Christian.

Paper Back. Zustand: New. It's likely the men and women introduced in this series would not call themselves ''Modern Spiritual Masters,'' yet there's no doubt their lives, their work and their words have acted as both companion and guide to many a modern seeker of truth. As readers we enter the community of faith each time we pick up a good book, transcending the boundaries of space and time through our interaction with the writer and his vision. The authors represented here are part of that larger community -- their words are ways toward communion and grace, even friendship. Along with selections from their writings, the books in this series include helpful (and rather absorbing) introductions that relate the special influence each has had on contemporary spirituality through the particular struggles presented by the twentieth century. With that, we had best let them speak for themselves. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 42474
