Marshall Terry was a teacher and administrator for forty years at Southern Methodist University, founded the Creative Writing Program there and the SMU Literary Festival, and is presently a professor of English and Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education.

Marshall Terry is an award-winning author of four novels and a collection of short stories, as well as a critic, historian and essayist. He is a professor of English and Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education at Southern Methodist University

Land of Hope and Glory is the story of Marcus Aurelius Northway, a homeopathic physician in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century who becomes chief medical officer in the Spanish-American War, marries the widow of an oil magnate, and in the 1920s and 1930s consorts with Henry Ford, Thomas A.
