Whether you hunt with a firearm or a bow, chances are you know the benefits of hunting whitetail deer from treestands. Twenty or twenty-five feet up a tree, belted into a stable platform attached to a sturdy maple or oak, with your silhouette broken up by a nearby hemlock, you're well concealed from wary deer that often look up as they walk through the woods. Trophy deer in particular know the score come hunting season-they know that hunters don't just stalk through the woods, or put on drives, they also take to the trees. How to take to the trees in a manner that won't alarm deer, that will put you in position for a killing shot-this is what Treestand Hunting Strategies is all about.Written by an expert in the field, this complete guidebook covers such topics as: how to select a treestand; total treestand safety; a game plan for early season whitetails; how to make hunting pressure work for you; hunting rub lines from above; specialized tactics for hunting the peak of the rut; strategies for hunting buck staging areas; hit and run treestand tactics; rattling, calling, and decoying techniques; using scents for maximum effectiveness; how to minimize your human scent in the woods; building ground blinds that really work.More and more hunters are hunting from trees, as the method's effectiveness is proven more and more with each passing season. There has never been a book written entirely on this subject before; this will be the guidebook against which all other books in the future will be measured. It is a must-have not only for all serious whitetail hunters, but all big-game hunters period. (6 x 9 1/4, 272 pages)
