These elements combined chronicle the Civil War as he saw it, his relationship with Miss Augusta S. Hayward and his rise from private to brevet major. The battle maps are not to scale and have been kept as basic as possible, excluding many small roads and streams. The focus is to provide some illumination of the microcosm of Willie's world in relation to the overall battle front.
