Alle Exemplare der Ausgabe mit dieser ISBN anzeigen:For centuries, classic tales like "A Boy Who Cried Wolf" and "The Tortoise and the Hare" have been passed down from generation to generation, but never before have these stories been told with such western spirit. In this collection of thirty-three unique and exciting adventures, Aesop's moral-teaching legends are retold with colorful illustrations and a Texas twist to each lesson.
When an old Cherokee chief ties three arrows together, his sons are unable to break them apart, and they learn that a tribe united will survive. Two cowboys rest under a mesquite tree to escape the heat and complain that the mesquite tree is too thorny and has no fruit to eat. When the tree tells them that it is shading them from the harsh sun, they learn to be thankful for their blessings. When a sweet rancher's wife finds a pressed flower, she realizes that the memory of a good deed never dies.
With these witty and sometimes hilarious stories, children discover the importance of honesty and fairness while learning about life and tradition in the Wild West.
