Dr. Joe H. Cothen served pastorates at Thomasville Baptist Church in Thomasville, Alabama; Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi; and Oak Park Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. A theology scholar, he earned a B.A. from Mississippi College, B.D. and Th.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and M.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi. Cothen is the author of The Preacher's Notebook on Isaiah, a Firebird Press book, and The Pulpit Is Waiting: A Guide for Pastoral Preaching and The Old, Old Story: A Guide for Narrative Preaching, both published by Pelican. He lives in Pearl, Mississippi.

Dr. Jerry N. Barlow is the interim pastor for First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as well as the dean of graduate studies and a professor of preaching and pastoral work at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a B.S. from William Carey College and M.Div. and Th.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also the author of Pelican's Studying and Serving with Success: Integrating Academics and Ministry, a Workbook. Barlow resides in Covington, Louisiana.
