His remarkable collection was bequeathed to the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam; the photos in this book were selected from that legacy.

Richard Hardiman holds a Ph.D. in environmental and agricultural sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he currently teaches.
