The Great Image is an enthralling exploration of the life and legacy of Vairochana, a pivotal figure in the spread of Buddhism in Tibet. This biography outlines the journey he took as a scholar and translator—from his trials in India to his teachings in Tibet, emphasizing the dedication required to preserve and propagate the Dharma. Vairochana’s life highlights the interconnectedness of individual spiritual quests and the collective evolution of the Dharma, offering readers a profound understanding of the Ati Yoga doctrine and its transformative power. Through Vairochana’s story, readers are invited to reflect on their own spiritual paths and the enduring legacy of Tibetan Buddhism. This book is a testament to the resilience and wisdom of a spiritual luminary whose teachings continue to inspire practitioners today. The Great Image serves as an essential read for anyone interested in the history of Buddhism, spiritual transformation, or the art of translation.
