Ruth Eitzen is the author of The White Feather, illustrated by her husband, Allan Eitzen, and Ti Jacques: A Story of Haiti. A lifelong peace activist who worked through the Bally mennonite Church of Barto, Pennsylvania, she and Allan led literacy workshops in Nepal and, at home in Barto, helped raise funds for a Nepalese orphanage. She died in 2007. 

Allan Eitzen has illustrated a number of books, including Cherry Tree by Ruskin Bond, My Name Is Hussein by Hyristo Kyuchukov, and Up the Hill and Down: Poems for the Very Young compiled by William Jay Smith. He lives in Litiz, Pennsylvania.
