Allen Rosenfeld earned a Master's Degree in History from Wayne State University in Detroit. He then completed the necessary hours for a PhD at the university, lacking only a dissertation. In the 1950's, Allen Rosenfeld covered Michigan boxing for the magazine Boxing and Wrestling Illustrated.
