Inhaltsangabe

Start picking, because your invitation to banjo camp has arrived?and whether you're a good old mountain boy or a city slicker with a love of American roots music, you'll want to attend! It offers a full-blown beginning program in both bluegrass and old-time banjo, along with advanced workshops by banjo superheroes like Pete Seeger, Tony Trischka, Janet Davis, Bill Keith, Brad Leftwich, David Holt, Geoff Hohwald, and dozens of others. Plus, you'll tour the major camps, and enjoy plenty of interviews with the masters, as well as entertaining banjo history. There's simply no other book like it: it's beautifully written by an experienced banjo camper, and has an appealing country-style design that captures this special musical world.
And if all this doesn't get you reaching for your pick (though of course it will), there's also a great CD so you can actually hear what the book discusses and play with some truly fine musicians, too. Strum along with David Holt or jam with Bobby and the Bluegrass Tradition.
New banjo players, more experienced musicians, and anyone interested in this cool instrument will all love this book.
