Keith Laumer was an American science fiction writer whose work combined military experience, diplomatic satire, adventure plotting, and a sharp instinct for speculative escalation. Born in 1925, Laumer served in the United States Air Force and later worked in the American diplomatic service, backgrounds that informed both his comic and action-oriented fiction.
