Does history repeat itself? That is the apotheosis of all questions. Suffering with internal struggles, Peter Rubin, a pale, overweight high school student, decides to write his thoughts in a journal. Through his entries, the reader learns of the hardships he faces and the pain he endures as a malevolent group of boys who he deems The Clan threatens to beat him up. Peter s entries become more interlaced with problems that seem to spread like a festering disease. If it is not one thing, then it is another as he soon discovers; his neglecting parents paint a powerful picture of divorce while The Clan continues their methods of torment. The only solace Peter can find is in his journal, and through a budding crush on a new student named Katie Murgelsy, who reminds him of the psychologist his parents hired. But is it enough? Can Peter release the building pressure of his life, or will it explode from within and cause him to do something unthinkable? The position he finds himself in and time are two circumstances that are not on his side . . .
