Camelia Colón Townsend left Cuba soon after the Castro revolution took over the government of the island. With a degree in Journalism, she worked in New York for the Macmillan Publishing Company as Spanish Editor of bilingual textbooks. In 1995, she joined the staff of Radio Marti in Washington, D.C. As Senior Editor, she covered domestic and international news and was responible for a one-hour newscast. Mrs. Townsend resides in Virginia and Florida; she also lived in Portugal and Swaziland, Africa.
