The Environmental Justice Small Grants Program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fosters collaborative and co-operative efforts directed at addressing and/or resolving real life environmental justice issues. EPA has provided 1,010 small grants since July 1994 when the program began. This book describes 60 programs and projects funded under the Small Grants Program from 2000 to 2005 that have made a difference. These success stories demonstrate how diverse communities can come together in different ways to solve local problems. The groups represented in this report encompass the diversity of problems found in neighbourhoods and communities across the country.
