Inch has taken as his inspiration the biblical injunction: "Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Rom 2:12) and the graphic imagery concerning Christians derived from the Epistle of Diagnetus: "They dwell in their own countries, but simply as sojourners. As citizens, they share in all things with others, and yet endure all things as if foreigners. Every foreign land is to them as their native county, and every land of their birth as a land of strangers." One might gather from reading A Guide to Christian Ethics the necessary direction for a more true Christian faith and practice in our world today.

Morris A. Inch is Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College and former President of the Institute of Holy Land Studies (now Jerusalem University College), Jerusalem, Israel. Among his many books are Pain as a Means of Grace and The Enigma of Justice (Wipf & Stock).
