In Beyond Anger, the CIA is working with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force to combat the drugs that are flowing into the United States. When a Cuban Intelligence officer informs them that Alberto Suare is a new player in Mexico, Covert officers are assigned to the case. When symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis start to manifest, Kaitlyn is devastated, refusing to accept that her goals are unreachable. Alberto, who wanted the perfect wife, now sees Kaitlyn as an embarrassing liability that must be eliminated. In Beyond Anger, Kaitlyn becomes a target. She finds herself under investigation by the CIA and learns that her husband is hiring hit men to have her killed. At the same time she is in denial that her Olympic dreams are over.
