My transforming moment occurred at the age of 22yrs old. I had married my sweetheart and given birth to our first son in December. By the month of February I was very ill, and hospitalized. They had come to tell me that as I sat in my hospital bed my father had just died in his hospital bed, a couple floors above my room. Immediately I felt smothered and crushed. Everything that matter to me was questioned. What I thought I knew, I didn't know. What I thought I wanted no longer matter. Who was I and where was I going? Religion was not enough to hold my mind or comfort me at that time. Church traditionalism could not stand against this giant. God took a hold of me that day, just as Paul on the road to Damascus. I had experienced a spiritual enlightening that would change my life forever. Have you ever thought, after the music has stopped and the lights are dimmed and the people are gone from church, there has to be more? There are too many Christians who are sick, emotionally scarred and living below poverty level. How can I be a lender and not a borrower if I can't even get approved for a car? How can I live life and live it abundantly if I am struggling with depression. When Jesus Christ transcended to heaven, He left us with a very precious gift that not only dwells among us, but dwells in the believer of Jesus Christ. He gave us His Spirit, the Holy Spirit.
