Signed off the sandlots of Baltimore, George Ruth blasts his way into the record books while earning the nickname Babe. Just weeks after his nineteenth birthday, he defeats the World Champion Philadelphia Athletics in a dramatic game. Unfortunately, he commits a grievous mistake that might cost him the love of his life. Follow the Babe’s exhilarating journey from the ballfields of North Carolina to Fenway Park and from Hot Springs, Arkansas and back to Fenway on an emotional roller coaster ride to superstardom and several World Series Championships with the Red Sox. Plagued by past mistakes, he struggles to re-kindle lost love and participates in one of the most bizarre perfect games in major league history. As World War I rages across Europe, tensions in the United States threaten to derail Babe’s professional success. The grandson of German immigrants sees his country divided between super-patriotic nativists and pro-Kaiser loyalists. Babe attempts to avoid the crossfire of opposing forces while friends and relatives succumb to war hysteria. The Show sets the stage for the explosive events of the 1918 World Series that will be revealed in the finale of Wopper - Volume 3, The Series.

Frank Amoroso is an attorney who was born in New York City. Before embarking on a writing career, Mr. Amoroso practiced law for many years and was a senior partner in a large northeast law firm. “Law is a wonderful training ground for writing,” says Amoroso. “It’s all about communication and persuasion, with the added requirement of precision.” From clerking for a Judge on New York’s highest court, to working as chief of staff for a NYS Senator, to working as a prosecutor and developing and teaching a course in White Collar Crime, his career revolved around words, written and spoken. He has used his training to write several historical novels. His first book, entitled Behind Every Great Fortune,® presents an intriguing story of events that led to the first world war and the Russian Revolution. The protagonist is Otto Kahn, a banker and chair of the Metropolitan Opera who was immortalized as the Monopoly man in the famous board game. He also co-authored, with his wife Rhonda, Behind Every Great Recipe. This cookbook is a companion to his first novel. It includes vignettes about the characters in Behind Every Great Fortune® while presenting fascinating food history and deliciously unique recipes from Europe, Russia and America. Frank’s latest book is a 3-part novel entitled Wopper: How Babe Ruth Lost His Father and Won the 1918 World Series against the Cubs. Volume 1, Pigtown was recently released. Volume 2, The Show will be released for Father’s Day. Volume 3, The Series, will be released this fall.
