Many years ago, the great Reformer, Martin Luther, had the chance to sit down with his students and colleagues while explaining his thoughts on various subjects. These informal conversations took place in Dr. Luther's home, the former monastery of the Augustinians, called the Black Cloister. In this collection he discussed various things such as God's Word, the nature of the world, imperial diets, prayer, antichrist, and many other topics. The author of this book, titled An Illuminating Table Talk, wishes to offer his thoughts on similar topics such as education, the American Constitution, Bible translations, and liberty. This book is also meant to wake up Christians who slumber in a state of apathy in our increasingly wicked world. These separate articles, that make up the book, were originally published as letters to the editor in local South Dakota newspapers. Seth Schoon is a young man with a passion for American history, liberty, and truth. He was blessed to be homeschooled for 9 years before completing his high school career at Sunshine Bible Academy in Miller, South Dakota. As a boy he enjoyed ranching with his family at the Schoon Family Ranch near White River, South Dakota. He continues to raise sheep and cattle while finding time for his various hobbies such as writing, researching, painting, and playing guitar. During his high school years, he gave many presentations through his 4-H club and competed in an FFA chapter. He has also had the opportunity to speak at the South Dakota State Capital and was elected to the Senate at South Dakota Boy's State. Seth's goal, through writing, is to instill a deep sense of respect for American history and the God Who has preserved America throughout the last 400 years.
