We knew that we were all we needed for each other. We were dealt a fate much worse than death itself. We lived with an incurable disease that tested the vows of our marriage and our love for each other. Thirty-one years later, I am alone with the exception of our daughter. I am so lonely and look for companionship the old-fashioned way and eventually online. There are many women and men who feel that finding a suitable companion to spend quality time with is just around the corner. The reality is that there are people who only want sex without the commitment. I am a Nurse and a mother to a beautiful sixteen-year-old daughter who keeps me young. My nursing career started in 1978 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia at Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Virginia. In 1981, I moved to Norfolk, Virginia to pursue higher education at Norfolk State University from where I obtained my associate and bachelor's degree in nursing. I worked in the areas of Emergency Room, Critical Care and Military Nursing. I am a veteran and served for twenty-four years in the Reserves and Active Duty. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a Niece, a friend and all-around good person who has had to live with an unusually cruel hand given to me by life.
