Wilma Broekema-Kanis was born in Kampen in the year 1959. She studied in Meppel. She moved to Beuningen with her husband, where they had two daughters. The family lived in Veenendaal for a long time. When her daughters became older, the author worked in a bookstore and then in the local public library. Writing has always been one of her great loves.
