The scariest sound a PILOT CAN HEAR IS SILENCE. Because it is often followed by a loud CRASH. Jim is a pilot's---pilot. He has two loves his wife Allie and his new Bonanza airplane. Tim is a timid sixteen year old with a hard-nosed father who tries to rewrite his sordid failed past through his son, by forcing the boy to play football and take flying lessons, things the boy really hates doing. Harold Johnson is a young engineer, who discovers that the foundry where he works is intentionally producing sub-standard parts that can go into airplane engines. Should the parts fail, airplanes will crash and lives will be lost. The C.E.O has ordered him to keep his mouth shut. His wife is pregnant, he can't get fired now. He need the insurance for her. When Jim's engine blows up causing his new Bonanza to crash, he is on a mission to find out why. As more airplane engines blow up Harold is torn. Who can he tell? Therein lies a hair raising tale of intrigue, deceit, greed and love lost.

Satisfaction Guaranteed. The flight was going beautifully. Jim's Bonanza was at nine thousand feet; the air was crystal clear and smooth as velvet, with only occasional wisps of clouds. His beautiful wife Allie was doing her normal copilot duties-she was sleeping. The whole airplane shuddered. When the engine catastrophically destroyed itself, oil started to coat the windshield. Jim reached down and turned off all fuel tanks. He secured the airplane, and then keyed his mike, "May Day! May Day! Bonanza seventeen miles west of the Macomb VOR, has catastrophic engine failure. We're going down." Then he realized that silence is a terrifying sound. Jim wasn't going to just lie down and accept defeat without a fight. That engine failure took away his precious Allie. He was going to find out why. If it turned out to be an act of God, he would live with it.
