Inhaltsangabe

The final exciting volume in TheTales of Earden fantasy/adventure series! All roads and all fates lead to Guardia...eventually. There are sundered lovers, the broken and the ones who heal, the selfless and the greedy, the seers, the living and the supernatural all coloring this tapestry. Aolwynd's beloved 'little monster', Brilliana, ties it all together. In the last book, our reluctant hero, Lord Boru, left the battlefield to the care of his friend Tanner, searching frantically for his love, Aolwynd, across the wide plains of Saels. In 'The Key'. we return to find him unaware that his city is under siege, his father, The Supreme Guardian of Earden is dead and his worst nightmare will come true, that he is next in line. Both friend and foe hunt him, one to bring him to his duty the other to kill him. In the capitol, we take up the parallel stories of Faolan and his wife, the drunken and dangerous, Princess Jermaine, whose only wish is to be queen of Earden and of her father, Bowmountain King, who must betray Faolan's trust and conquer Earden in order to make his daughter happy. We follow Aolwynd's children: Brilliana, a little girl struggling with magical powers far greater than her size and the fates of her brothers, Jors and Jemson, Boru's son. Meanwhile, Monk, the mischievous but ever-faithful crow, Arius, Ruby and the Wild Folk continue their story. Good Woman Brilla, still held in 'The Dragon', (the prison beneath Guardia's palace) has no idea what is in store for her. All fates are woven together by human and not so human hands to fight in the streets and to ultimately destroy a great supernatural evil. Within this tapestry, Masters Devers and Bell play important parts and even their cat, Chores leaves his warm spot in the palace kitchens to become a hero.
