The author of this book experienced the same life experiences as Violet. At the age of four she first fell in love with alligators while on vacation in Florida. From that time foreward she found comfort in anything alligators. She faced the same fears as Violet, the same emotional trauma, the same frustrations in learning, the same transitions from teacher to teacher, and many therapeutic practices. Because she was surrounded by so many educators and people of impact that supported her all the way, she is thriving in life and still overcoming dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
