Book one in a trilogy of handbooks on what you need to KNOW, what you need to DO and HOW to do it.

For people who are serious about leading great teams.

Did you know? Research shows 75% of business teams fail. We struggle to form teams.

Why do we find team building so hard? Admittedly, it's tough getting adults with different agendas, blind spots and opinions to perform tasks together. Yet it's also true that we don't take the art of team building seriously enough. Accountants train for 3-5 years, architects for seven, but how long have you and your teammates spent learning to build teams? One day? Two? Less? How does that make sense when teams are the key to combining people's talents?

It doesn't. But how do we break the status quo? After 35 years' experience in leading and coaching teams, James Scouller, author of the self-help manual for leaders, The Three Levels of Leadership, offers breakthrough answers. Using easy-to-read concise language he sets out the psychological keys, action principles and road maps to team success, starting with his Commit- Combust-Combine model. In this —the first in a trilogy of short handbooks brimming with stories, penetrating insights, models and tools —you'll learn what you need to know:

  • The hidden traps facing your team and how to avoid them.
  • Why you need to grasp the contrast between performance groups and real teams.
  • The three psychological challenges your team faces in climbing the curve.
