Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Merrilyn Drummond is a teacher who specialises in English literacy. After moving to Herberton, on the Atherton Tablelands, Merrilyn spent many years working with the local aboriginal people. As a mutual rapport and respect developed, Merrilyn was accepted as a daughter by Jirrbal elder, the late Rita Miller. It was Rita who gave her the name of Wangal which means boomerang in Jirrbal. Passionate about the environment and sustainable practices to protect it, Wangal's stories from the Dreaming, capture the wonderment of creation and the need to respect and caretake our natural world.
