Founded on the recommendation of the Royal Commission on Health Services in 1964 the Cumming School has, from the very beginning, focused on innovation and excellence in health education. Robert Lampard is an adjunct professor of medical history at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.

David B. Hogan is the academic lead of the Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging and a specialist in geriatric medicine.

Frank W. Stahnisch holds the AMF/Hannah Professorship in the History of Medicine and Health at the University of Calgary.

James R. Wright Jr is professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and professor of Paediatrics at the University of Calgary.
