In this collection of lively real-life stories that are based on actual interventions, Ernest Tannis illustrates the importance of values, perseverance, trust, humour and other principles in dealing with everyday disagreements and disputes. Drawing on his extensive experience in interpersonal, institutional, and international situations, he demonstrates how mediation principles can have practical benefits in daily interactions, even in tragic or violent circumstances. Captivating personal anecdotes combined with down-to earth life lessons make this an indispensable, hands-on guide to creative conflict resolution. "Is Everyone at the Table?" is meant for anyone interested in understanding communication options for problem solving and decision making. Ernest G. Tannis was called to the Bar as a Barrister, Solicitor, Mediator and Notary Public in 1976 and became a member of the Law Society of Ontario for 47 years. After which he ceased his law practise and continues his focus on mediation, negotiation consulting, and developing courses for professionals. Other courses include a program for the general public in relation to their Wills and Powers of Attorney. He also continues to write books. Ernie helped establish dozens of not-for-profit organizations and charities, including REACH [which assist persons with disabilities], the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR) and Injustice in the Legal System (IJLS). He also co-hosted 260 weekly one-hour CHIN (Canada) Radio interviews on Alternative Dispute Resolution from 2004 to 2009, which was heard world-wide, and garnered two national awards. After a joint launch of Ernie's books, Dave Brown - former editor of the Ottawa Citizen - wrote a column entitled "A Lifetime Spent Fighting for Justice".
