The teachings, style and impact of the Qur'an have always been matters of controversy, among both Muslims and non-Muslims. But in a modern context of intercultural sensitivity, what the Qur'an says and means are perhaps more urgent questions than ever before. Building on his earlier groundbreaking work, the author challenges misinterpretations of particular Qur'anic verses from whatever quarter. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Muhammad Abdel Haleem, OBE, is King Fahd Professor of Islamic Studies at SOAS, University of London, UK. He is a world-leading authority on the Qur'an and the author of a highly-regarded English translation (2004-2016) in addition to Understanding the Qur'an: Themes and Style (I.B.Tauris, 1999) and Exploring the Qur'an: Context and Impact (I.B.Tauris, 2017). He is currently Editor of the Journal of Qur'anic Studies.
