Über diesen Titel

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Geraint Thomas OBE is the winner of the 2018 Tour de France, a double Olympic gold medallist and multiple world champion who has been an indispensable part of Team INEOS since its inception. A Tour de France veteran, he had both completed the entire race with a fractured pelvis and been essential in piloting Chris Froome to the yellow jersey multiple times before his own win.

One of the most popular men in the peloton, he has watched and contributed from the inside as British cycling has been transformed over the past decade. In 2014 he won Commonwealth road race gold in Glasgow and was voted BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year. In 2015 he became the first British rider to win the E3 Harelbeke: in 2016 he won Paris-Nice and in early 2018 won the Criterium du Dauphine.

Aus dem Klappentext

Geraint Thomas is one of Britain's most loved sports stars. He's won Olympic gold medals, finished first, second and third at the Tour de France, and stayed at the top of his sport for almost two decades as other riders and eras have come and gone.

This is G's life through the key races in his career - from his first 600-metre dash around the concrete track at Maindy in the Cardiff suburbs, to the Champs-Elysees in Paris. We go with him from the Olympic velodrome in Beijing to the cobbled climbs of Belgium, from a treacherous crash in the Italian Dolomites to his triumph in yellow atop the most iconic mountain in road cycling.

ACCORDING TO G tells the inside story of how a skinny kid dreamed big and then went even further than he could ever have imagined, riding first with his heroes and then outlasting them, coming back from injuries and disastrous bad luck to repeatedly touch the pinnacle of his sport - and, in the process, becoming the most popular rider of his generation.
