Hardcover. Zustand: New. While histories of the French Revolution often focus on the Parisian elites and radicals, their feuds, and the ensuing Terror, David Andress explores the role of peasants. He demonstrates how their dissatisfaction with their economic status and the ongoing food shortages meant they were first to rise up against the status quo, and how their support was required for any stable resolution to the crisis.
