With its focus on multimedia and transmedia transformations, The Superhero Multiverse pivots on two important points: firstly, it reflects on the core concerns of the superhero narrative-including the relationship between 'superhero comics' and 'superhero films', the comics roots of superhero media, matters of canon and hybridity, and issues of recycling and stereotyping in superhero films and media texts. Lorna Piatti-Farnell is Academic Dean at SAE Creative Media Institute in Auckland, New Zealand.

Whitney Hardin is a scholar of game studies, comic studies, new media, and civic literacies.

Julia E. Kiernan is assistant professor of communication at Lawrence Technological University.

Carl Wilson is an independent scholar based in the UK where his research focuses on evolving position of the superhero and supernatural game adaptations and associated franchises within contemporary convergence culture. Founder of the Superhero Studies Network and previously an Associate Lecturer at The Sheffiled College, UK, he has given academic conference talks in New York, Oxford and Coperhagen and served as Film Editor for PopMatters.com. He has edited (with Lorna Piatti-Farnell) The Routledge Companion to Superhero Studies (2025) and special issue of on 'Superheroes' for The Australasian Journal of Popular Culture (2023). HIs research has appeared in such publications as Contagion: Pandemics, Cryptids, and Monsters (edited by Simon Bacon, 2027), Superhero Gothic (ed. Simon Bacon, 2027) and Adapting Horror in Popular Culture (edited by John Darowski and Joseph Darowski, 2026).
