He sends three assassins from Venezuela to Houston to murder VanMarter and bring back his ears. Only one of these assassins, Sonja Paz, gets away. Soto is a drug lord with an impenetrable stronghold and heavy security. Soto blames Paz for the botched assassination attempt. He abducts her mother to force her to return to Caracas where he will likely kill her. Fortunately, VanMarter finds an ally in Sonja Paz. Together VanMarter, Pickens, and Paz must face overwhelming odds and breach Soto’s security. Eliminating Soto is the only way to end the threat.
