The volume includes contributions from leaders in the punk movement who engaged in exemplary practices that helped forge ongoing connections between punk and animal studies. In addition, it includes chapters by artists, scholars of visual and popular culture, animal studies specialists, and others in artistic and art-affiliated disciplines who have found their way into animal studies from one of the many manifestations of punk and who see punk’s ethos, ethics, and aesthetics as formative to their own work.

Laura D. Gelfand is emeritus professor of Art History at Utah State University and honorary professor in the Department of the History of Art at the University of York, UK.
