Reseña del editor:
The reader can trace how trains, boats, planes and cars evolved through history, how they revolutionized human life and progress, and also understand how they work. The book examines each type of transport in turn, exploring different aspects - such as speed, navigation, or what the future holds - in contained double-page spreads that offer information and photographs. Discover how ships have shaped history over the past 3500 years - and are still the same basic shape, how the flight of insects and birds inspired human aviation, and how Formula 1 racing cars get up to speed. Step-by-step experiments and model-making projects help you to work out how things work. They include making model rails and tunnels, a diving submarine, and aerodynamic paper airplanes. The book aims to capture the thrill of transport and travel past, present and future, with its dramatic photographs and helpful illustrations. This reference aims to supplement national curriculum science, design and technology, and history studies at Key Stage 2.
