In this biography of Sir Cyril Fox (1882-1967), Charles Scott-Fox discovers that his father was an extraordinary man, an inspiring teacher, an effective administrator, a humanist and an influential archaeologist during the golden years of 20th century archaeology. This book begins as it should with Fox's early childhood and his schooling, before moving on to his university education and his early interest in archeology, initially as a hobby.
