Inhaltsangabe

Family history is the lynchpin for most people's existence, but for Annie Kelly, trauma induced amnesia has removed this safety net and left her rootless and uncertain in a foreign country. Born into a loving and stable family and growing up in rural Ireland, she spends the first thirteen years of her life protected and nurtured in a close knit community. However, evil influences lurk menacingly in the shadows and one June night Annie's world is shattered as tragedy robs her of all she knows. Removed to an austere and emotionless Catholic institution, only Annie's amnesia can help her survive the events of that night. Escaping with her best friend, a rebellious novice nun, to Liverpool, Annie creates a new life for herself, without ever acknowledging the horrifying truths that dwell deep within her subconscious. As happiness, prosperity and marriage beckon, will Annie be able to face her demons and come to terms with her past, or will those evils once again deny her any chance of happiness? Only by returning to the land of her childhood can she hope to fully take control of her destiny, but can she and will she.
