Reseña del editor:
Rita Smith and Joe Lee grew up alongside their infamous cousins. Joe lived under the same roof as Reg, Ron and Charlie and their tempestuous parents. Private and loyal to their family, they have never before spoken out in public. Now, for the first time they share their thoughts and memories with Peter Gerrard - the result is an intriguingly intimate portrait of the Kray family.Rita and Joe not only offer a wealth of previously unpublished stories and anecdotes about the twins, describe the personal relationships both within and outside the family and offer a fascinating insight into what went on behind closed doors, they also provide a selection of never-before published family photographs.Joe and Rita believe that the record should finally be set straight. "Inside the Kray Family" does just that, providing an extraordinary insight into one of Britain's most infamous families from the late 1800s to the present day.

Buchbeschreibung Softcover / Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. Softcover. 1st p/b edn. While the general public like to perceive the Krays as folk heroes, Joe Lee and Rita Smith are of the opinion that, despite remaining loyal to their memory, they should set the record straight once and for all. Joe remembers one particular day when he and cousin Charlie were told to go and play outside. When they were allowed back into the house, Violet was holding 2 identical black-haired babies. The twins had been born and life would never be the same again. Rita helps to unravel the mysteries surrounding Reg's early marriage to the beautiful Frances Shea and her subsequent suicide. Rita and Joe not only offer a wealth of previously unpublished stories and anecdotes about the twins, they also describe their personal relationships both within and outside the family and offer an intriguing insight into what went on behind closed doors. Including rare interviews with Old Joe Lee - the twins' favourite uncle, who died in 1998 aged 99 - whose recollections of his family and their East End past brings the reader closer to the Kray family than ever before. Packed with previously unpublished family photographs. An intimate portrait of Britain's most infamous criminal clan. Illus., Appendix and Index. 256pp. trade size softcover. Lightly creased covers o/w Vg. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 19183
