Inhaltsangabe

The first chapter addresses the issues to consider when tackling DIY in general and more specifically from the viewpoint of being female (for example, tasks where strength or height are an issue). Further chapters are then devoted to different types of DIY - decorating, flooring, fixtures & fittings and practical considerations such as security & safety and when to call in the professionals! Information on types of tools, materials, and hardware is given, as well as some basic advice on electrics and plumbing. The book is thoroughly practical, with guides to choosing materials, assessing timescales, and working safely. The text is fun and informal, and the practical advice delivered with humour and pzazz. Funky illustrations bring the chapters to life. A glossary at the back explains the most common words in girls' terms!
