Making scooter maintenance look easy with a photograph-packed guide. IT s unfortunate that scooters have become a men- ace on our roads with young inexperienced riders zipping between the traffic with their L-plates flap- ping in the wind. And with the price of fuel and insurance premiums rising while the cost of twist and go scooters contin- ues to fall, I can only see this trend increasing. We may not be able to do much about the driving habits of this increasing band of teenage chicken chasers , we can at least help them to ensure their bikes are safe and roadworthy. This guide uses colour photographs throughout to cover everything from the basics (checking tread depth) through to the more complicated aspects of checking your drive belt and kickstart. This is very much a show and tell style guide. You do not get pages and pages of text, instead what you get is a page full of pictures and maybe just one para- graph of text. But this is exactly what you need. What s the point of reading chapter after chapter on removing and changing brake shoes when you can achieve the same level of understanding through four or five close-up pictures and a few paragraphs of text. Each chapter begins with a list of essential tools, so you don t fall into a nasty trap of finding you need a specialist tool once your scooter is in bits.
