Russell Taylor, a writer and composer, joined Charles Peattie as co-creator of a new cartoon strip 'Alex' in the London Daily News in 1987, Alex transferred to The Independent and then in 1992 to the Daily Telegraph where it appears five days a week. Charles also produces the highly popular Celeb strip in Private Eye, and continues to write for television for such well-known comedians as Lenny Henry and Harry Enfield. Both Charles and Russell were awarded MBEs in 2003 for services to journalism.
