The scraps in this portfolio are facsimile reproductions of original 19th century designs. In Victorian times these beautiful paper cut-outs were used to decorate cards, albums, boxes and furniture in a popular craft known as decoupage. The traditional techniques of decoupage are explained with simple step-by-step instructions in the accompanying book of projects, which also provides a range of ideas for the finishing touches, including simple gilding and crackle-glazing.
