Inhaltsangabe

This volume explores one important feature of the new global politics--the emerging role of regional systems of relations. The contributors concentrate on key questions: What constitutes a region? How is the historical process of region-formation developing? What are the roles of main state and non-state actors involved? What are the future prospects? The book examines 11 different regions that are coming into existence in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa to show how regionalization is an uneven developing, heterogeneous, and multi-dimensional phenomenon.
