A wide range of vintage kitchen items is attractively presented in this guide to collecting and pricing everything from storage containers (wire baskets, ceramic crocks, wooden cupboards, etc.) to all sorts of cooking and baking implements. Bishop, who deals in kitchenware at London's Portobello Road antiques market, also highlights some first editions of cookery books, but the examples shown tend to be from English publishers rather than American. Still, with its interesting layout, good-quality photographs, and Bishop's expertise in the area, this resource is both useful and entertaining. Many unfamiliar gadgets and devices merit attention based upon their historical value as well as their aesthetically pleasing forms. Alice Joyce
