During the period to the 1970s, the U.S Air Force operated several classes of bomber?heavy long-range types for strategic operations, medium bombers, and fighter bombers for interdiction and ground support. The U.S. Navy had its own series of attack aircraft and bombers for delivering nuclear weapons, while the antisubmarine aircraft was another area to be examined in considerable depth. Biografía del autor

Tony Buttler joined High Duty Alloys Ltd, Redditch in 1974 where he spent nineteen years as a metallurgist testing titanium and aluminum forgings for the aircraft and defense industries. A growing interest in archives and historical records saw him take a master’s degree in library and information science at Loughborough University before becoming a full-time aviation historian. Since 1995 he has had numerous articles published by most of the major aviation journals, and has written several of the well-known book in the Warpaint series. For Midland Publishing he has written three acclaimed volumes in the British Secret Projects series.
