In this illustrated guide, Pritchard tells you where to go for the best rock climbing in Australia. Divided firstly by states and then subdivided by regions, each climbing area is introduced indicating routes to follow. Maps are also used to indicate the various climbing regions and the location and number of routes available in each area. Each area feature includes a summary of what to expect, including transport, geology, accomodation, a brief history of notable climbs, route notes and recommendations. Climatic conditions are also covered, including when to climb each area, natural hazards, basic first aid and emergency procedures and grade comparison - Australia's grades versus international grades and a history of Australian climbing.
Biografía del autor
Greg Pritchard is exceptionally well-respected in climbing circles and known as one of Australia's leading rock climbers. He has contributed numerous articles to a wide variety of outdoor and climbing magazines and is an accomplished climber of international standing. He has acted as New Holland Australia's consultant on all their international division climbing titles.
